Then varying amounts of bone and cartilage are removed or added to create a new shape.
Nose tissues will be moved aside, and the incisions will be made for reconstruction. A frame or plaster will be placed on the nose to help give it a new shape. Additionally, the nose may be padded inside for 12-24 hours to support nasal tissues involved in breathing.
Normal nose cosmetic surgery lasts one to two hours, depending on its purpose.

Before the surgery, young patients should be in their final stages of growth (females 15-16, males fully 17). Of course there are some exceptions, for example, patients with a severe breathing obstruction. In order to obtain anesthetically pleasing facial features in some patients, it is better to enlarge the jaw along with rhinoplasty.
